Embossed onto the cover is the book’s title, The Sun Did Shine Here, taken from a scan of a found postcard; no recipient’s address, no post-mark – this being the only message. Inside the book, blue skies and landscapes taken from similar postcards appear as a collage panorama, void of destinations and locations – anonymous skies.

About sense of place in artist books

I am an artist. I find the ephemeral place in my art conjured up through practice. I sift through raw materials with my hopes and dreams, and ideas take form as if intended.
