Reassemble (John Say and Sheena Vallely)
United Kingdom, ongoing since 2004

Reassemble is collaborative visual and audio work, since 2004. Our imagery is taken from debris found on the street. Using basic hand printing techniques we transform found objects into books and prints.

We prefer to avoid using complicated printing processes that may inhibit the spontaneity of our work and to focus instead on developing ideas through the use of chance and improvisation.

We approach the production of our sound work in much the same way. Bringing together sounds recorded from various sources and mixing/improvising with them live in the studio.

About sense of place in artist books

I am an artist. I find the ephemeral place in my art conjured up through practice. I sift through raw materials with my hopes and dreams, and ideas take form as if intended.
